Bounty hunters, fugitive die in shootout at Texas auto dealership.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Gabriel Bernal, 33, and Fidel Garcia, 54, who worked for a security firm in Corpus Christi, Texas, had been staking out the dealership waiting for the arrival of Ramon Michael Hutchinson, 49.
Hutchinson, of St. Paul, Minnesota, was wanted on several charges that included assaulting a law-enforcement officer, Fox News reports.
The Star-Telegram reports Hutchinson was in an office with another person when Bernal and Garcia confronted him with their guns drawn. The owner of the dealership said the bounty hunters had claimed they were federal agents, Fox News reports.
Hutchinson tried to pull a handgun from his waistband but dropped it, reports say. However, after a scuffle he was able to retrieve the gun and began firing.
Police say about 20 shots were fired in six seconds and all three men were hit multiple times. The men died at the scene.
